How do you know if you are an INFJ? Well, you can take the MBTI test here, or you can read through this list of things that are true for INFJs and see if any of them are true for you too.
1. You’re not like everyone else
It’s hard for you to feel like you fit in anywhere because you really aren’t like anyone else. You have always felt this way. Even though you try really hard to fit in, it never quite works.
2. You need alone time
As an introvert alone time is not optional. It is necessary for your health and the health of those around you.
Alone time is how you recharge your batteries and reset your energy. It’s also how you sort out everything that is going on in your head. It’s very important to you.
3. But you also need people
You love people… well, some people. You like to help them and you need them to help you to. Your close friends are important to help you sort out your feelings and emotions.
4. You’re social to a point
There is a limit to how long you can be social. It’s different for different INFJs, but at some point, you will start to droop and need to find somewhere to hide or a way to escape.
5. You really want to know what’s going on with your people
When you ask one of your friends or family members “how are you?” you want an honest answer. You want to know what’s really going on. You want to be a resource for them.
6. You’re the counselor
You are GREAT at advice! It’s a natural gift. You can break down other people’s problems very quickly and are great at offering options to help them. Because of this people come to you seeking advice often. You usually end up the counselor and mediator for your friends and family members.
7. Your emotions are complicated
Figuring out your own emotions is a bit more complicated. Sometimes it takes weeks or months to figure out what you are feeling and why. Sometimes it takes someone else pointing it out for you. It’s usually a mess though that you tend to avoid like the plague.
8. You’re a sponge for other people’s emotions
Most INFJs are empaths, which means that you soak up other people’s emotions like a sponge. It doesn’t matter who it is, it could be your spouse, your siblings or that guy in the grocery store who is angry and yelling. You take on those emotions like they are your own and carry them around with you until you have some alone time to sort out what is yours and what is not.
9. You know what a door slam is and how to use it
You know that a door slam is cutting someone out of your life completely. You have probably used it on someone who has hurt you many, many times and you got to the point where you just could not take it anymore.
10. You like having plans
You like plans. They don’t need to be minute by minute, super detailed plans, but you like having at least a rough idea of what is going on. You like to be prepared ready for any kind of social interaction. You also want to know if you need to bring snacks or a book.
11. You don’t like it when people don’t like you
You like the people around you to like you. In fact, you go out of your way to be nice to them and do things for them so that they will like you. It’s difficult for you to accept the fact that some people won’t like you no matter what you do.
12. You can always find a way to make things better
You are always looking at ways to make things better. It’s a natural instinct. It comes so easily for you that sometimes you don’t even realize that you are doing it. You also don’t understand why people wouldn’t want to listen to your ideas and improve the way they do things.
13. You just know
You just know things. You don’t know how you know, but you just do. It’s that sneaky gift you have called intuition. You study what people say to you and what they don’t say. You read their energy, their body language, look at their patterns and a million other things and put all of it together so quickly that you can almost predict the future. It’s almost scary how accurate you are.
14. You like expensive things
Ok, maybe not expensive, but fine, elegant and beautiful things. You like good food and nice clothes. You always like to present a pleasant appearance and worry about it if you go somewhere looking less than your best. You have high standards for a lot of things.
15. You don’t talk about how you really feel
You feel so many things and your emotions run incredibly deep. You generally keep these things to yourself though. You may have even tried to open up to someone in the past, but they probably didn’t understand what you were trying to say. So, you have realized that it’s better just to keep most of it to yourself.
16. You care about everything
You care about so many things. You are constantly thinking about other people and how you can make things better for them. You are very considerate of their thoughts and feelings, only wanting the best for them.
17. You are looking for your purpose

19. You’re all about the future

20. You love the impossible
“I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” Alice in Wonderland is one of your favorite stories. You believe six impossible things before breakfast every single day.
